Features of the US Surgical Versaport Plus RPF: The VERSAPORT&trade PLUS RPF trocar has a sharp pyramidal tip and a spring-loaded shield. Upon entry into a free space in the abdominal or chest cavity, the shield advances to cover the pyramidal trocar tip, reducing the potential for injury to internal structures. The trocar sleeve contains an internal seal to prevent gas leakage when instruments are inserted or withdrawn, without loss of pneumoperitoneum.
