"Features of the VWR Ceramic Top Hot Plate Stirrer: Heavy-duty hot plate magnetic stirrers are designed for everyday heating and stirring operations in the laboratory. Powerful motor allows stirring of viscous materials and provides reliable slow-speed operation. Electronic feedback enables the motor to maintain speed during changes in viscosity. A strong magnet prevents decoupling of stir bar even at high speeds. Stirrers feature a seamless, one-piece glass ceramic surface that heats quickly and evenly, and resists chemicals and scratches. Ergonomic, low-profile design provides easy operation of heating controls and helps conserve benchtop and fume hood space. Microprocessor-controlled heating and stirring functions ensure accuracy and repeatability. Surface temperature is indicated by a digital display. An indicator light blinks a warning when the top is too hot to touch, even when unit is switched off. All units include a threaded connection for a support rod holder.
